Wash your hair in ice cold water, or dip it in icewater. This seals the follicle, leaving a commercial-looking shine.
just go to a salon and they will give you good conditioner......
buy a blow dryer and as your blow drying your hair sleek it out with a brush and add some hair products
Its not likely to happen with black hair. Im sure home type straighteners are not going to do you much good and will dry the hair and eventually make it break off. Oprah has zillions of bucks to pay for the best. Pantene is good stuff and has panthanol in it which is good for the hair.
