Do you think those spray tans at salons look okay?
I want to get one 'cause I want to take some topless photos for my bf as a gift! If it's not perfect, I don't think it would show. Can they adjust how dark you want it? Is it okay to do topless with like a thong on, are they used to that?Do you think those spray tans at salons look okay?
I get spray tans quite a bit for weddings and parties. They can be really good but make sure you go to a reputable salon who will fix any mistakes or patches that may occur.
EDIT You can have it as dark or a light as you like and they will spray you in your thong or whatever you chose to wear.Do you think those spray tans at salons look okay?
no i usually end up really orange out of nowhere...(it shows up a few hours later) and there is usually streak marks, also if u dont have ur belly button peirced it will stain in there for a while and leave a mark between your chest. it looks very unnatural i bought i package of 11 and still have like 5 left from a yr ago cause i dont think they are worth using. you cannot adjust the darkness. you dont get sprayed by a person its a machine and u go all the way naked, its pretty awkward and realyl cold!

Why do my nails look worse after having them done at a salon?
I had my nails done at a salon for the first time in my life and they looked great at first..duh..but, now that the enamal is off and i just put some clear polish on..i can see the nails look terrible and my cuticles are sooo torn!! what the heck happened? i am not going to get them done ever again if this is what happens! thanksWhy do my nails look worse after having them done at a salon?
you probably went to a busy salon that did not take there time Neva go on the weekends cause there trying to make as money as they can.Why do my nails look worse after having them done at a salon?
I don't know why your cuticles look torn, i guess the person was rushing or sucked. But I also notice after a mani, my nails tend to break off and look thin. I think thats because they soak. And that softens the nails. I have decided to stick with clear polish on my fingers. I like the natural look of my nails. And i save money.
idk. go to a spa where they are done good. don't go to some cheap place where this happens.
Its normal for polish to chip off of natural nails pretty quickly. As for the nail and cuticles, go to a different nail salon b/c thats not so normal. Remember, you get what you pay for. Don't go to a real cheap nail salon.
The person who did them did not know what they were doing. Go somewhere else.

You should buy the products from a salon. Paul Mitchell is really good. If you're on a budget, try Tresemme, available at most drugstores. How can I get my hair looking like it came from the salon?
you have to ask your hair stylist at the salon how he blowdrys your hair and makes it fall like it does,
those tips will help you, then practice, and yeah,

Supply houses often have used equipment. Pawn shops believe it or not can be good. Look for salons that are gong out of business or just out of business and track down the equipment. It takes legwork but can save you a ton.

When you go to a salon to get your hair done, what are some of the things you look for in a salon & stylist?
How the stylist has her (or his) hair done. Who would want somebody with bad hair to do their hair? Also, that the place is clean. The stylist should ask questions, not let me do all of the talking. For example, ask how I usually wear my hair, how often I wash it, how long I want it to take to do every morning, ect. When you go to a salon to get your hair done, what are some of the things you look for in a salon %26amp; stylist?

I do not know where you are located, but try contacting SMALL local museums, historical societies, and art galleries. Walk in and check out the space, grounds, and parking. Make sure there is LOTS of extra room for the catered bar, buffet, and cake tables. If it looks like it will work, then explain to the owner or manager what you would like to do. Some would gladly like to hold a private party like yours. The fee should be nominal in most cases, perhaps in the form of a donation.
Don't forget some space for chairs and tables (set up cafe style).

Why can't I make my hair look like it does when I leave the salon?
Whenever I get my hair styled at the salon it looks great. My hair has some natural curl in it. I usually wash it every three days. I hot roll it almost every day and it still gets frizzy by the end of the day. When my hair stylist fixes it she uses only a brush and a blow dryer and it looks so straight and shiny and does not frizz. I bought the redken straightening gel that she uses. I just cannot seem to get my hair that striaght with only a blow dryer and a brush. any tips or suggestions? thanks. Why can't I make my hair look like it does when I leave the salon?
she probably has a top-of-the-line blowdryer on top of years of experience. the most important thing to think about when ur blowdrying straight is to wait until the hair is about 80% dry. not only does this cut down damage by A LOT, it also reduces the risk of horrible frizzies. the second thing is to invest in a good natural-bristle round or paddle brush to smooth out the hair (i use a round brush, because it can curl AND straighten =D). and when ur blowdrying, divide your hair into three sections and put a ponytail holer in 2 of them. it makes it easier not to miss any sections. also, point the nozzle down the strand of your hair (never up or neutral) and avoid blowing the tips too much to avoid dead-looking ends
hope i helped!!!!Why can't I make my hair look like it does when I leave the salon?
I think it has to do a lot with the blow dryer you are using. You may also be drying your hair completely, and she probably doesn't...that will also cause it to frizz by the end of the day. You should do a conditioning treatment...and see if it is easier for you to accomplish the look she gives your hair;)
Because these girls have had years of vocational school training, and Professional training in a Salon. They know precise measurements of parting at the hair shaft, spritzers that make the hair shine etc...In other words they are Professionals, and that can be very expensive.

Help I bleached my hair and now I look like a banana! I dont have enough money to go to a salon, what can i do
I kind of want to try a brown color but out of the 11 years i have been dying my hair i have never done brown. Does anyone have any suggestions? Do i need to skip brown and do a blonde like i have been doing for years? Will this banana color bleach affect color? ANd is it safe to dye on top of it? I did it 2 days ago.Help I bleached my hair and now I look like a banana! I dont have enough money to go to a salon, what can i do
You should just dye it brown to hide the banana shade, but when you can afford it, go to a salona dn ask them to give you the color you really want without damaging it.Help I bleached my hair and now I look like a banana! I dont have enough money to go to a salon, what can i do
Get a ';Platinum Blonde'; shade and it will lift the yellow. Then just leave it platinum or after a couple weeks choose another shade of blonde, deeper if you like and it should give you the effect you desire.
put a semi permenant tint on it
I suggest STRONGLY that you go to a professional colorist and receive corrective color work. if it looks like a banana then you will never be able to achieve a decent even color without the proper knowledge and products
Since you say you look like a banana then all the color has probably been taken from your hair. Bleach is one of the strongest chemicals to use on your hair , if you can't really afford or don't want to go to a salon to get it corrected I wold suggest you get a brown rinse which ever shade of your choice dark or light and you hair will begin to take the color since it already has little or no color now from the bleach. Also another good thing about a rinse is its gentle on the hair ,so gentle it can be used the same day as a perm or relaxer!! The best thing for you hair now is Conditioner and a rinse try the same shade a couple of times to get the desired look with each use the more your hair will keep the color.. Not professional but Experienced.
YOU CAN GO TO STORE AND BUY SOME SHIMMERING LIGHTS, OR TO YOUR SALON AND ASK FOR A '; PURPLE '; SHAMPOO THATS LIKE SHIMMERING LIGHTS. iT WILL CUT OUT THE RED ORANGE AND YELLOW TONES YOUR HAIR.AS FAR AS GOING BROWN,, YOU CAN GO TO A PLACE THAT TAKES YOUR PICTURE AND YOU CAN ADD DIFFERENT COLORS AND STYLES TO THE PICTURE TO SEE HOW YOU WOULD LOOK. WITHOUT A PIC OF YOU, NOONE CAN TELL YOU HOW YOU WOULD LOOK.
many salons bleach the hair before they dye as it helps to last the color longer.... i somehow dont like bleach on hair as it spoils the hair... but you can dye it with brown with no negative thoughts.. i am pretty sure it works.. 'coz most of my frends get their hair bleached before they get it dyed....
good luck
yes u should go with brown..brown is a pretty color and if u want to cover that banana bleached color u have now u should try it..
Dye it brown or dark brown or black to hide the banana side!!

Why can't I get my hair to look like it does when I leave the salon?
I bought all the products they used in my hair including the Redken Shampoo and Conditioner, I even have the CHI flatiron. I still can't get the same results!
I have thick, coarse hair which looks flat and sleek when I leave the salon and will remain that way for the entire day. When I style my hair, it just gets frizzy, and well, doesn't stay straight throughout the day.
What am I doing wrong?!Why can't I get my hair to look like it does when I leave the salon?
Try using a little more product when you style. Make sure you are using lots of tension when blow-drying to get it as straight as possible before you flat-iron it. Make sure it is damp when you start to dry it... if it's already mostly dry, you'll never get the wave out. Take small sections at a time. Always blow the hot air down towards the ends, not up towards the scalp to avoid frizz too. Patience and practice. You'll get it.Why can't I get my hair to look like it does when I leave the salon?
your not doing anything wrong hun.. next time you go in to your hairdressers and get a hair cut or whatever it is you get, say to them listen i dont wanna sound weird but could you tell me how to blow dry my hair as your doing it so i can learn how to do it myself.. they are trained proffesionals its there job to get your hair looking great.. you wont be able to unless you are trained to do so..
Its more of they are working at your hair from a different angle than you are.
They have also been trained to do it.
Next time ask them what some helpful hints would be to get your hair looking the way they get it.
ask them.

Does tanning salon spray taning make your skin look orange? How long does it last? ?
/./Does tanning salon spray taning make your skin look orange? How long does it last? ?
Dont do it
Ull itch
ur skin will be itchy as for ages
it hurts
xDoes tanning salon spray taning make your skin look orange? How long does it last? ?
yes the sprays do but if u buy the lotion it does not... tanning usually last like 4 weeks if you go steady.. i wouldnt use anything unlesss you are going to a salon to use a bed...
they are designed NOT to make your skin look orange, but that is commonly a side effect.
but if you go to a good company, they will make you look more brown then orange.
and spray tans last about 5 days.
if you repeatedly get spray tans, they last for quite a white (but that means going back about every week to get them)good toner

Does anybody know of a salon where you can give 100% control to the stylist and look great when there done?
I'm looking for a stylist that can look at me and tell me what would look great on ME! try some high end salons. they focus more on customer service %26amp; clientelle rather than getting you in the chair %26amp; out to maximize their customers by doing the quickest job possible.
Next time you visit LA, try Carlton Hair Internationa in the Glendale Galleria mall. They're the best, trust me, I live in New Mexico and plan trips to LA just to get my haircut.

I can't get my hair to look the way it did when I left the salon?
I just got a new hair cut last night. I was so happy when I left and it was super adorable. I loved how it was styled and the cut itself. I watched what the stylist did to my hair and now, no matter what I do, I cannot duplicate what she did to my hair and I am starting to hate the haircut because of it. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do, short of getting another hair cut.I can't get my hair to look the way it did when I left the salon?
* Choose The right hair dryer to Redo your hairstyle:
When it comes to selecting a hair dryer, cost isn't everything. Rather than buying the most expensive dryer(or the cheapest!), consider the health and texture of your hair, says Victor. If your hair is fine and wispy or is damaged, you don't need a dryer that offers lots of volume or heat 鈥?in fact, such dryers will just cause knots and tangles. For fine hair, Victor recommends the Solis 401, $180, or other dryers with low wattage and heat.
On the other hand, if you have thick, coarse or curly hair, you'll want a high-performance dryer. ';The Supersolano X($200)is the Ferrari of blow-dryers,'; says Victor. You'll have your hair dry in no time with its 1,875 watts and multiple heat and speed settings!
Blow-dry tip: For the sleekest blow-dry, use heat on a section of hair to dry it, then use the cool setting to hold the style.
* Tourmaline flat iron:
Flat irons have destroyed many a healthy head of hair. ';So many women have embraced that very straight look. The flat iron is used after almost every time these women wash their hair, and the end result is hair so damaged it's hard to get it healthy again,'; says Victor. For those of us who crave stick-straight locks, he recommends using tourmaline technology. ';The [tourmaline] stone uses infrared heat that penetrates the hair much faster than your normal flat iron 鈥?it's 25 per cent more efficient,'; he says. This means your hair needs less time passing through the damage-causing heated clamp. Tip: Don't let any heated hair appliance be in contact with your hair for too long. ';If you notice white steam coming off the hair, it's just burning water,'; says Victor. ';But if it's dark smoke, you're burning your hair's protein, which means you're causing damage.';
Two models to try are the 2 ISI Max, $200, which displays the temperature on a digital screen, and the Babyliss Pro TT(BTM3558C), $140, which allows you to adjust the temperature with a manual knob(known as a reostat dial). Both give you control over the amount of heat that comes into contact with your hair.
* Natural-haired bristle brush
Firm, dark in colour and usually made out of boar bristles(don't worry: the boar isn't killed, just shaved), these brushes can often provide the much-needed slip, grip and polish that Victor is adamant about. Slip(based on bristle type)refers to the ease with which the brush moves through your hair; grip(staggering of bristles)is how the brush effortlessly holds the hair when you turn it; and polish is how the brush leaves your hair. You can get a good-quality brush for about $30(try the Hercules Sagemann brush, $30).
One of Delineation's best sellers is the Mason Pearson Handy Bristle brush, $140. It's pricey since it's made by hand and uses Asian boar hair for the best brushing experience. Many different styles are available, so you'll be sure to find one that's right for your hair type. Softer bristles are best for fine hair, while a mix of strong boar and nylon bristles suits those with thick or curly hair. There's even a brush with flexible bristles for sensitive scalps! ';For a brush to do its job, the bristles need to be stronger than the hair you're working on,'; says Victor.

The best thing to do is, next time your in the salon ask lots and lots of questions.
like every product they put on your hair ask them what it is, how much it is and whether you can purchase it in the salon.
Also watch how they move your hair, the hand actions and lifting and so on.
Honey its because your beautician is a magician! lol Thats what I've been told. Just go see her again and ask her if she will show you how to style it and to let you try.

Looking for a nail salon in Carmichael /Citrus Heights CA area...?
Im very picky about having perfect nails. They need to not lift for a week and a half and the person has to be great with fills too. I want a place and a name of a person that can do the white powder tips and not too pricy (no more than 25 for a fill). Anyone know of a couple of great places in the Carmichael/CitrusHeights/Fair Oaks CALIFORNIA area? Looking for a nail salon in Carmichael /Citrus Heights CA area...?

Do salon made dreads look clean right away?
I just went to the salon to try and get dreadlocks, but they do not seem to be locking and I spent a pretty penny to get them done. Am I getting ahead of myself and they just need time to lock, or should I go back and complain?Do salon made dreads look clean right away?
yes they need time to lock i know that wait sucks but the outcome if it is something you really want is fantastic just make sure to help it along with wax and other productsDo salon made dreads look clean right away?
Don't complain, 95% of dreads (or locs as I call them) is patience. It takes up to a year or longer to fully loc, depending on your texture, if you have a very course texture it wont take as long, if you have a very loose and soft texture (or straight) it will take a very long time.
Patience and love is all your hair needs.
I also started my locs in a salon with the coil method. This was the end of November, Its now the first week of May and I still have not fully loc'd but they are coming along beautifully.
My locs are healthy , uniform, and growing well. It just takes time and patience. I go thru an 'ugly' week just before its time for me to head back to the salon but its a price worth paying for the other couple of weeks.
Hang in there!
yes they need time to lock i know that wait sucks but the outcome if it is something you really want is fantastic just make sure to help it along with wax and other productsDo salon made dreads look clean right away?
Don't complain, 95% of dreads (or locs as I call them) is patience. It takes up to a year or longer to fully loc, depending on your texture, if you have a very course texture it wont take as long, if you have a very loose and soft texture (or straight) it will take a very long time.
Patience and love is all your hair needs.
I also started my locs in a salon with the coil method. This was the end of November, Its now the first week of May and I still have not fully loc'd but they are coming along beautifully.

Is it worth to get your eyebrows darkened in a salon do they look nice?
no,they don't look nice. After they've darkened your eyebrows they look fake, they look like you shaved they off and eyelined them!
GIRLS SAY THAT LOOKS ISN'T MOST IMPORTANT ON A GUY,BUT WHY GIRLS SPEND so MUCH TIME IN BEAUTY SALON?
i don't spend so much time in a salon, never have, i only got to the hair dressers once every 6 weeks. Then again i am from the u.k. not Beverly Hills. Looks don't matter at the end of the day, its a case of feeling good about yourself, for example i don't really go for looks in a man but i will make the best i feel i need to of myself to make my self feel good about me, not for the opposite sex but just for myself, why not? if i feel good, then wheres the problem? . At the end of the day its all about confidence and what makes you feel happy about yourself, not to attract. If attraction does occur then for most especially single people then surely that's just a bonus. xGIRLS SAY THAT LOOKS ISN'T MOST IMPORTANT ON A GUY,BUT WHY GIRLS SPEND so MUCH TIME IN BEAUTY SALON?
thats what i say looks are everything its how u feel insideGIRLS SAY THAT LOOKS ISN'T MOST IMPORTANT ON A GUY,BUT WHY GIRLS SPEND so MUCH TIME IN BEAUTY SALON?
thats a really good question...i mean if looks dont matter....why spend so many hours in the salon...
the thing is..like some guys..many girls are vain..to them looks secretly do matter no matter how much they say they dont..
but that doesnt mean all girls are like that ...i'm a girl and i dont go to the salon to often...in fact quite rarely and i'm quite satisfied with the way i look....and there are some girls who are like that
however i still agree with you...lots of girls DO spend tons of time and money in salons
whoa? i onLy go to saLon for new haircuts and that's aLL!
For us, a guy's appearance isn't so much as important as our own. If we're in a relationship or on the hunt for one, we just always want to look our best. And we hope it does the trick!
I don't...but I go to the hair salon every blue moon. I just want people to see what I look like naturally. I don't wear makeup...if I was meant to have perfect skin, God would have gave it to me.
I dont do that..I wear jeans and a shirt with my hair up....and I think I'm naturally beautiful so I do need that...Also my hair is easy to do....Dont need anyone else to do it...
GIRLS LOVE TO BE PAMPERED AND WE LOVE TO LOOK GOOD. IF YOU LOOK GOOD YOU FEEL GOOD
well thats female nature
I don't my boyfriend tells me ';you need to go get your hair done'; and he's not being mean but I will go for like 4 months without getting it done because I usually just go with the wash and wear look or a scarf don't have much time for all that sitting for hours and hours. Only reason why I don't go more often is because I can't stand being in the salon for more than an hour and it's usually like three hours. I hate that.
Women with natural beauty don't spend a lot of time in salons.
Additionally, the looks of men are just as important as those of women.
because they want to seduce us guys!!! and we love then for it!!! :P
cuz women from venus and men from marsgood toner

We are opening a dog grooming salon and we cant figure out what we want to name any suggestions would be appreciated. I would stay totally away from pampered anything as it is so overused and I regret naming my online store pampered-puppy :(
So have fun hope it goes well.

Looking for the best hair salon in Vienna, Austria?
Any suggestions?
English speaking is a bonus!Looking for the best hair salon in Vienna, Austria?
Ooo, a real toughie. I never got a good haircut when in Vienna -- at least not for the price I paid. Prices will be similar to a major US metropolitan area (and with exchange rates...be prepared). I usually got my hair cut/coloured whenever I was home in the US on holiday or for work.
There's a good boutique in the Hotel Imperial -- never went but people said it was good. I'd expect it to be expensive.

I am looking for a good nail salon or technician in Brighton & Hove.?
I am willing to travel or have someone visit as long as they are good. I have just moved to the area %26amp; would be grateful for some recommendations. ThanksI am looking for a good nail salon or technician in Brighton %26amp; Hove.?
There are several on London road. In do not know any names, however I have a friend who frequents them all, and would, and has, recommended them in the past.
If you need to find some, the Yellow pages is a good option.
Best of luck.

Can i look natural with a fake tan from the tanning salon?
The tanning salon is a fast way to tan. But it tans more than just your skin. Premature babies are exposed to the same uv to age them, especially the liver, untill they are ready to be self sustained. So consider this next time you go to the salon.....Can i look natural with a fake tan from the tanning salon?
you can tell when someone doesn't have a natural tan by their hair color sometimes. or u can just tell that its not their natural skin color. just don't over due it at the tanning salon. its really bad for your skin and its better to have it natural. Can i look natural with a fake tan from the tanning salon?
If you mean using the beds and not the mist, then it will look natural. The tanning bed doesn't really give you a fake tan, it speeds up the process that the sun would do if you layed out. So its real, and it will look natural as long as you don't go too much for too long.
if you use a bed just know when to stop. When you start getting oddly brown go just once or twice a week. If you go for a spray on don't go in a booth. Go to someone who sprays you with an airbrush. It SHOULD look better if they know what theyre doing. Also if youre really pale tell them not to use the whole thing of tanner the first time or you'll go from really pale to really dark. Next time you go you can get the whole thing and ';tan gradually';. This should help
Usually ends up looking orange no matter what, but for best results ,don't overdo it and exfoliate plenty to avoid patchiness.good toner

Is it wise or even possible to just go into a hair salon and say, ';Do whatever you think looks good!';?
Because I am totally stripped for ideas. I have no idea what hair looks good for my face shape, and I'm really weird about how my hair looks in general. Can I just go into a hair salon and do that? Is it better to do it in some salons and not a good idea to do it in others?
Just as a side note, I have a round face. I like experimenting with things, but I don't know what to avoid and what to lean towards. I would very much like a unique hairstyle, along with maybe a splatter of bright, almost neon, unnatural color. My style could be described as goth, scene, or emo.
And I'm sick and tired of having such a boring hairstyle!
Any ideas? Is it wise or even possible to just go into a hair salon and say, ';Do whatever you think looks good!';?
i have done that.
I have been disappointed a lot, but VERY happy once. so i keep going back to that stylist.
Tell them you want to know what hair style/shape would look good with your face.
If your face is round, you would probably look good with an angular cut or even asymmetrical cut, not a cut that goes around the face like an oval portrait frame. Is it wise or even possible to just go into a hair salon and say, ';Do whatever you think looks good!';?
It depends on how much you know your stylist. If you trust her and she knows your lifestyle, you can say that. If you're new to her, have a consultation with her, tell her what you like, and have her show you examples of what she thinks would look good on you with a look book.
They're saying that says that ';never ask the hairdresser if you need a haircut!'; or any hari advei I know its ironic but consider it before you tell the hairdresser how and if you should cut your hair!
I do that all the time!! Just make sure it is a quality salon not like great clips or something. The stylist will probably go over her ideas with you before she does anything so it's not like you will end up with a mohawk or green hair. unless that is what you're into.jk:)
if thats what you think.
GO FOR IT, you only live once. and hair will grow out. I always say that, I am a guy, but threw the years, I have had all sorts of hair cuts and styles, and even once she highlighted my hair, I was never dissapointed. I know a great hair dresser in Poway Ca. that the only way she does hair is that way, nobody tells her what they want, and they never complain, and she is always booked solid
that's what I do sometimes, but I'm a guy with fairly short hair so I'm sure it's a lot different.
You sound like the daring and adventurous type but you still might end up regretting that approach. Have you been going to the same stylist for a while? If s/he is knowledgeable then you could have great results. If it were me I'd bring in a few photos and have some idea of what exciting new cut that you want;)
you know, if you walked into a salon and the person cutting hair just got her license to cut hair, and you say to her,'; just go ahead and cut my hair that makes me look good';, then that person might end up giving you a mohawk or what not, and she might say something like, ';oH.... you're a girl. so sorry, i didn't mean to do it like that. i thought u were a little boi.';
and that might ruin your life like for good. don't make it hard on you. go to a professional, and spend some cash where you know they will do a good job.
go with your friends who you think have decent hair cuts, and get a real cut, go where everyone goes. don't go to places where you have bunch of guys cuttin hair. you will end up with a guy cut.
Well, I suppose if you like surprises it should work out just fine...
i would say if you are truly open to ANYTHING it is a good idea.. otherwise no, unless you really know and trust your stylist. I did that once at a glam salon on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills... wound up looking like a Prince reject with a big curly poof-ball for bangs and a buzz cut on the back.
CAUTION!
If you have a stylist that you trust and knows your style you can easily ask them to suggest a new look for you. I do that now all the time when I get my hair done. I'll tell her I am feeling like going shorter or darker or different highlights and she makes suggestions. I don't give up all control but she definitely makes suggestions to give me what I want and make it work with my face.
It would be a little harder if you are trying a new salon. When I try a new place out, I always look for someone that seems to have a similar style (not just hair) to me.
id bring in a ton of pictures of hair you like and then they could tell you what would look best.

If it were me I'd bring in a few photos and have some idea of what exciting new cut that you want;)
you know, if you walked into a salon and the person cutting hair just got her license to cut hair, and you say to her,'; just go ahead and cut my hair that makes me look good';, then that person might end up giving you a mohawk or what not, and she might say something like, ';oH.... you're a girl. so sorry, i didn't mean to do it like that. i thought u were a little boi.';
and that might ruin your life like for good. don't make it hard on you. go to a professional, and spend some cash where you know they will do a good job.
go with your friends who you think have decent hair cuts, and get a real cut, go where everyone goes. don't go to places where you have bunch of guys cuttin hair. you will end up with a guy cut.

I am looking for a name for a salon something modern?
What do you think of Hair Diva';s?I am looking for a name for a salon something modern?
How about
*Mane Attraction (mane spelled as in hair)
*Cuts and ColorsI am looking for a name for a salon something modern?
I dont like Hair Divas sounds like a cheaper salon, doesn't sound sophisticated. I like Urbane, it sounds modern and sophisticated.
It means:
1. having the polish and suavity regarded as characteristic of sophisticated social life in major cities: an urbane manner.
2. reflecting elegance, sophistication, etc., esp. in expression: He maintained an urbane tone in his letters.
You can hear how it is pronounced here:

Sorry, I think Hair Diva sounds well.....bad.
How about.....
';Hair 4 U';? Spelled that way
';A close cut';? (Not a great idea, but a suggestion)
';Perfect Trim';?(Kind of boring)
Did this help, I personally like my first suggestion the best.
ehh, thats alright, but there's a salon around where i live called the studio, thats a good one. maybe a variation of that. hair diva's makes me think of like old fat singers dressed in sequenced dresses....eek
Hair Divas makes me think of old black women spending all their time getting weaves.

We are looking to buy a tanning salon?
we are looking to buy a tanning salon ... the previous owner is selling due to family illness and not being able to be at the business therefore he cannot expand and grow it and has decided to sell it. After doing a due diligience checklist he is not able to provide us with the information that we want. He has had this business for 9 months and he hasnt been there long enough to develop balance sheets and tax returns etc over years. we asked if we could retain the records from the previous owner and he said it was not possible due to the fact that the figures have changed and he runs the tanning salon differently from the previous owners. What do we do now ?We are looking to buy a tanning salon?
Bottom line: His inability to provide you with better information is HIS loss, not yours.
With less than one full year worth of books, you've got very little to go on. You need to ask yourself what he has that you need to buy from him:
1) Location? Is it really that good? Can you find a better one?
2) Customer base? Aren't tanning salons pretty much cash and carry? My understanding is that even ';contract'; customers are short term in nature (30 or 90 day tanning packages). Maybe I'm wrong on that. In any case, do you have an idea of what the sales trend looks like?
3) Related to #2, is he selling you a brand name that has market power? Does this guy have some unique insight that allows him to drive sales that you would be unable to replicate?
One thing to keep in mind: There is a big difference between starting from scratch and taking over an operating business. If you start cold, not only will you be building customer from nothing, you will probably be at least 60 and as much as 120 days away from your first customer due to construction, etc. That stuff takes time. If you've never done it before (in any business), don't underestimate how much time, effort and money are involved. We are looking to buy a tanning salon?
Offer to buy the equipment only and reassign the lease. Change the name. Make sure there are no leins on the equipment.
I would look into opening your own. Do not buy any blue sky from him.
don't buy it's sound like you will be closing as soon as you open.

If I go to a beauty salon, do I have to take a color photo of what I want my hair to look like?
Or can it be black and white? If I go to a beauty salon, do I have to take a color photo of what I want my hair to look like?
if you're going to do that, bring a colored pic. they have hair samples there that you can use and show them what color or colors you want. thats what i usually do. you're not required to bring in a picture. If I go to a beauty salon, do I have to take a color photo of what I want my hair to look like?
A good stylist can work from either colour or black and white photos. So it doesn't matter.
If you are coloring it yes, but it's not necessary if you are not getting your hair colored.
I'd bring in a colored photo, so that they don't make your hair dull!
It's better if it's a color photo but if you're not going to change your hair color, I think a black/white photo is just fine.
if u are wanting a cut black and white is fine, if u want color it needs to be the color u want. they have lots of books and pic's there too look at also before u choose.good toner

I've never done that for my eyebrows (I usually don't get them done at a salon), but I do for how I generally want my hair done. It's not wierd at all.
No thats not weird. It will actually help sometimes, so both of you are clear on what you want.
Of course!

She has been doing my hair for the last couple of years and I am always pleased with her work. In fact she cuts hair for the majority of the girls on staff because she is a skilled stylist. She currently came back from a hairstyle convention/hair fashion show located in Las Vegas to learn new techniques and new do's for the new season. If price isn't an issue, I'd say go for the Evelyn Charles salon / spa in West Edmonton Mall and ask for Laura, she's a close personal friend of mine.

What do women look for in a tanning salon???
The more ';spa like'; it is the better. The salon needs to be very professional, play classical or jazz music to relax me right when I come in. There should be radio controls in the bed so that I may change the music, if I like.
Fountains around are nice, everything should smell nice, not like suntan lotion. It is great when the room includes warm towels, wet and dry; spray deoderant, fresh water and some kind of fresh smelling mist so that I don't leave smelling sweaty.
A website that takes on-line reservations would be nice. I hate waiting and don't always know way ahead of time that I'm coming. Being able to go on-line and schedule my appointment would be really great. I hate walking in to a room full of people waiting.
I want to look forward to coming to the tanning salon, not dread it. Staff is really important too. I don't want to see a bunch of trashy high schoolers working there, chatting with their friends on cell phones. Go to a really nice spa in your area and try to model the tanning salon after it as much as possible. What do women look for in a tanning salon???
New beds, clean rooms, workers that aren't snotty b!tches. What do women look for in a tanning salon???
I prefer the beds that have radio controls in them (not a radio on the other side of the room with speakers in the bed - you cannot change the station without getting out of the bed). I also like the beds that have the start/stop and timer above you in the bed so that you can get situated and then start the timer. Also I can just look up to see how much longer i have instead of just wondering or timing it myself.
All of this as well as clean bed, I like to have the cleaning spray in the room so that I could also spray the bed if I wanted, spray deodorant or at least baby wipe type cloths to clean, a mirror, etc.
cleanliness, fans in the rooms to keep you cool, a timer in the bed so you know how much longer it takes, a radio in the bed, stuff to buy at the salon...like lotions, eye protection and other stuff.
Cleanliness is the most important thing for me. I also like having several different types of bed to choose from. It's nice, especially when I'm starting to build a base tan, if there are beds that have differing levels of 'hotness' (newness of bulbs). I like to use one that has older bulbs at first, so I don't burn. A good selection of lotions, friendly staff (rare), mirrors in the rooms, deodorant, towels, nice radios. I have been tanning for 12 years, and I've been to some gross places, and some very nice ones, too. Price is not as important as getting a great tan.
A clean room, full sized mirror, spray on deodorant, and friendly staff.
clean rooms, a good selection of beds not just 1 or 2 types, good prices, good selections of lotions, friendly staff
the privacy of having it in my own house and not wondering who else (or what else) has been in it and whether or not it's been thoroughly disinfected
the latest beds that have new bulbs, clean, lots of beds so i don`t have to wait when i do a walk-in, friendly %26amp; knowledgable staff, large selection of products, vanity area for re-applying makeup...

Not at all it helps the stylist know what you want so there's no confusion. Keep in mind your hair might not be able to do what your picking out but any good stylist will let you know. Here's a tip cover the face of the hair you picked to see if you still like the styleIs it weird to bring a photo form a magazine to the salon to show what you want your hair to look like?
no u have a better chance of getting the look u want when they have a picture to compare to. that way ahead of time they can make suggestions to best frame ur features...i do that everytime i get my hair done!!!
last time i didnt bring a picture i told the woman i wanted a choppy cut like kristin cavalerie from laguna beach...what i got ended up looking like rose from golden girls....NOT HAPPY lol
always bring a picture!!!
Coming from a stylist....its a good idea. that way you won't have a hard time explaining the style you want and it will be less stressful on your stylist. and your stylist can't say that she didn't know what you wanted.
LOL no it's normal !
how else would you describe how you want your hair to look?
In words and wait till they mess up ?!?!
bring the picture buddy :]

I'm looking for a super clean nail salon in Los Angeles?
I live in Culver City. I prefer a salon that uses new tools for each client and doesn't use those whirlpool baths that people have been getting infections from. Does anyone know of a place like this?I'm looking for a super clean nail salon in Los Angeles?
I understand your concerns. One of my closest friends owns a nail salon that fits your requirements. Her salon is one of the only places I know of that does not use whirlpool baths. It is located in Chatsworth though, which is a bit far from Culver City. But it's called Beauty Squared and it's at 21534 Devonshire St Unit D
Chatsworth, CA. You can read a little about it here: http://www.yellowpages.com/info-LMS52933鈥?/a>

Haircut looks like split ends from crown to ends (just layered according to salon!)?
I'm new to this - not sure how to reply to the kind people who replied to me but... Thank you! I can't believe I let my colorist talk me into going dark from very highlighted and into getting a cut from someone who did this to me... Of course, it really is just a matter of time (long hair = 2 years?) but the salon agreed to 2 cuts with the ';creative director.'; He thinks I need to forget about trimming for a few months or I'll miss my length too much. (Not that that will fix the overall look of breakage!!!) Why oh why didn't I just get a touch up on my highlights?!! Now I'm dark and shredded! I think I'm too damaged to fix the color anytime soon either ;( Even friends don't seem to appreciate how awful having my hair messed up makes me feel... I do appreciate this forum!Haircut looks like split ends from crown to ends (just layered according to salon!)?
What's your question?
Dark dyes will actually smooth the hair shaft, while bleaching will roughen it up. Give your hair a day or two and you'll probably find that it's more smooth than it was before! If it doesn't look right, start using a deep-conditioning mask twice a week to prevent further damage from occuring. When styling, spray a silicone-based shine spray on the lower half of your hair and then follow with a flat iron. This will bake the shine right into your hair. (Clean the straightening iron after.)

what you could do to give back your hair as much strength as possible use eggs as a hair mask the yolk will give back essential lipids and the placenta will just add elasticity that is essential to prevent more breakage and good advice to you my friend cut it as short as possible as soon as possible you need to start over you f--ked up my friend and need to pay the price.the thing is the more you style your hair to make it look healthy the more you break it and the pattern will go on and on for years believe me i went from have 2 feet hair to having a cut that had a shaved nape, it was hard but now my hair is gorgeous...Haircut looks like split ends from crown to ends (just layered according to salon!)?
First and foremost, seek a different salon professional's advice. Your hair may be layered, but if your ends are splitting there are a few things that may have caused that.
Your stylist may have used a razor to cut your hair. If this was done, some hair types are likely to look split-ended or frizzy. Coarse, thick hair or very curly hair is likely to do this. So will hair that has been damaged by chemical treatments (such as bleach highlighting). If your stylist did not use a razor or thinning (toothed)shears, it is more likely that your hair is extremely damaged from the chemical lightening process it has been through.
As far as fixing this... time is the best cure. However, a few things may help ease the pain. Try deep conditioning your ends (about two inches away from your scalp to the tips) with a repairing conditioner. Try Broccatto Cloud 9 (available in salons)or ask a salon professional for a similar product. Treat your hair every time you shampoo it (at least twice a week). You might also try a clear shine gloss treatment. This is a no ammonia, damage-free gloss treatment that seals the hair, thus adding shine and likely reducing the frizz, split look.
Hope this helps!

Do you think its stupied to go to the tanning salon in the winter. Will it look weird to people?
What does it even cost i want to go but how do i tell my mom??? I really need the price of it and what do they doDo you think its stupied to go to the tanning salon in the winter. Will it look weird to people?
Well in december maybe lol but im going right now and I have a pretty decent tan. I don't think soDo you think its stupied to go to the tanning salon in the winter. Will it look weird to people?
Hey girl, i own a tanning bed and i get in it just about every day! I would get tan if i were u cause it makes u look radiant and beautiful! So go ahead chick!
I am not sure what the cost is because i own one! Sry! But i have been 2 one once and i 4get the cost but i know all they do is put u in a room and u lock the door and tan!
Oh and u do have 2 go multiple times because u will barely c a difference the first time!
kinda because it wouldn't look natural
I live in Texas, and here everyone tans year round. I don't really think it's stupid, as long as you don't overdo it. It takes a few sessions to get a good tan but after that it's pretty easy to stay tan. Usually tanning places charge about $20 a month for unlimited tanning. You also have to pay for lotions, though. Just go to a tanning salon near you and check it out.
i think its dumb but i think its dumb year round so ya..
I think it's weird to fake n bake during the winter.
It's winter. Still too cold to stay out, so everyone is paler then their normal color. I don't understand why people have a desire to tan during the winter it's silly.
But whatever that's just my thoughts.
Why don't you just save the money and get tanning lotion? My friend uses that during the winter and it's not streaky like the spray tans. Maybe try that...
call your local tanning salon and ask for prices. it is different at every place. and just do not over do it. once a week MAXIMUM
no, not at all. Just dont over do it.
Mainly it depends on the tanning salon you go to, but they aren't usually over $25 or so. There are different kinds of tans: spray tans and tanning in a tanning bed. In spray tans, they apply a misty kind of spray colored depending on how tan you want to be. However, these do have to dry so it may be a disadvantage. In tanning beds, you lay down inside a sort of case with lights that speed up tanning for you. Either way, they don't take long and aren't very expensive. As for telling your mom, it depends how old you are... If you're an older teenager I think that's pretty reasonable. Depending if you live in a tropical place or not, it might look a bit odd in the winter. But people actually can tan in the winter, too. If you want to be pretty dark, I'd suggest waiting until it gets a little warmer or sunnier where you are. If you tan easily, it may look less odd, also. I hope this has helped and good luck! :]
MANY people don't realize this,
but tanning is just as bad as tanned people bleaching their skin.
And people go off at them!!
Yes it looks funny in winter,
it even looks funny in summer because its so unnatural looking.
Be happy with what you've got.
Be your own person.

I'm 13 and looking for a job @ salon shop etc. Anyone have any ideas what I could do?
I'm I know i wont be able to actually cut hair but something for my age... (im turning 14 in October)I'm 13 and looking for a job @ salon shop etc. Anyone have any ideas what I could do?
1. Sweep the hair after the stylist trims it
2. Clean the windows
3. Organize the products
4. Help with greeting the customers
5. Hand the stylist needed suppliesI'm 13 and looking for a job @ salon shop etc. Anyone have any ideas what I could do?
ok thats going to be reaaaally hard to find.
there isn't really a job at salons for people that don't have degrees. the only job is occasionally a cashier person but they prbly won't trust a kid with money like that.
if u want just a job why not try something like waiting a resterant u like (free food?? :D) or if its the salon part you like, try seeing if any good salons want an intern!! then you could learn alot and be in the environment w/o having to do the dirty work.
they might let you start off sweeping the salon and then move up to shampoo girl
my niece is 16 and went to cosmo classes in high school. she graduated and has trouble finding work. she just got a job as shampoo girl but they think she is to young so she is on trial...
you will be working for a long time b4 u can retire once old enough to start working so chill out for now and just babysit or walk dogs for some money
legally you cant work until your fifteen and have a permit from your high school, which means you need a 3.0 and excellent teacher reviews and no tardies or absences,
it would be considered child labor and is punishable by jail
you could ask and hope they take you which they wont but if they do you'd probably just be sweeping up hair or sanitizing instruments
I think bikini and brazilian waxes will be out of the question- you most likely will be sweeping up the hair, washing out the clogged sinks, picking up the fingernail dust and feet skin and dried ,yellow ,hard, toe nail clippings from the pedicure area--
you can sweep floors, be the receptionist, organize products, wash and fold towels, clean the bathroom, etc.
ok well guess what you can do nothing!
(child labor laws forbid someone under 14 to have a serious job) SORRY!!!! nice try though! :)
wait at least two or three years i dont think you can until you have a job permit or whatever its called
Probably sweep the floor, clean stations, answer phones, stuff like that. I did that when I was 14 at a hair salon.
girl, you dont need a job.
im 15 and i dont even have a job :]
haha
u have to be 16 lmao!!!! but u can get free stuf here u just have to sign up and anwer forums here....http://www.rewards1.com/index.php?referrer_id=65884
Just go to the salon and ask if they need any help...most will tell you then.
You could be a shampoo girl.
i think theres like labor laws saying you have to be atleaste 14?

I would like to know, what are people are looking for in a hair salon that would actually make them want to go
I am trying to find out what attracts people to a hair salon.I would like to know, what are people are looking for in a hair salon that would actually make them want to go
Hair cuts
No seriously, there are four things that will bring me back to a salon.
1. A good haircut, I can't believe how many stylists do really rushed crappy jobs, f* up my hair once, I won't be back
2. A friendly place to go. I am made to feel comfortable from the moment I walk in, everyone says hi, you are included in conversations, there are good magazines (not just Hair mags) and you are offered refreshment (coffee, water, tea). These little things go a long way to bringing people back. It is unbelievable to me how many places let you wait forever and then you are treated rudely to boot.
3. Not waiting forever because the stylist overbooked and/or night hours. I work during the day, how the heck can I get my haircut while I'm at work? I am always suprised when salons lock up at 5 pm and good luck trying to get a Sat morning appointment.
4. A fair price for the service.I would like to know, what are people are looking for in a hair salon that would actually make them want to go
I look at a number of aspects. First, I look for highly trained professionals. I pay close attention to clients that regularly go to that shop to see if their hair is not only pretty when styled, but also healthy. I pay attention to the styling products chosen by the salon, overall cleanliness of the shop, and prices. If you're a shop owner trying to attract new clients, try advertising a special where you can get one service (color, trim, etc.) free when you get your hair done, for a limited time of course. If there is a kitchen facility in the building, sell food. People like to be able to eat without leaving to get food. Add a playroom for clients that must bring their children. It's not so much about the appearance, but what's offered. We are naturally lazy to a certain extent and love those ';one stop shops'; where you can get more than one thing accomplished at a time.
Cleanliness, prices
Hot looking hair stylist's.
a nice cool place to kick-it with friendly people.
trying to look nice
impress people
don't know how to style their hair themselves
take your pick
Reputation. Pampering. I want a salon that makes me feel like I am important when I go in. Don't rush me through the process. My salon offers a glass of wine, water, tea, etc. I get a scalp massage during the conditioning treatment along with a hot steamed towel wrap. During the blow out I receive a hand massage. Best of all, no tipping...it's included.
good prices.
nice outer appearance, kind helpful employees that you can talk to while they are doing your hair, good end result, and good service!
I hate to admit this, but when I see reputable name brand shampoos and conditioners advertised OR on the shelves I just assume that it is a good salon. Cleanliness is important to. Use black and keep it modern.
its not the salon .. its the hair stylist
a salon is just a building
a GOOD stylist.. is priceless
Topless service.
I like when the salon looks like they've got their stuff in order. All stylists should obviously be well trained, also well groomed themselves.
In order of importance:
1. Price
2. Hours of operations %26amp; flexibility (late nights, early mornings, weekends/Sundays, etc)
3. Low turnover of staff (ie. it means a lot when the same people have worked there for years and they're not just hiring and firing all the time)
4. Specialties (ie. what they have to offer, such as coloring, highlighting, hair care products, etc)
5. Friendliness
6. Cleanliness
7. Willingness to understand customer concerns, provide money back for doing a bad job (which shouldn't happen anyways), and basically doing anything to keep their customers
8. Good location (near other places they'll have to stop by later (ie. grocery store, kids' school, home, etc)

If my hair is looked after properly at a salon after bleaching will it be ok?
yep it will be fine dont worry they will have a range of products to condition your hair
ask questions about the products and how they work
good luck :)If my hair is looked after properly at a salon after bleaching will it be ok?
Your question lacks a lot of info......and it's not very good English. Are you talking about having it bleached at the salon????
Bleach is a harsh chemical but doing it at a salon is better than doing it yourself. Always having a professional do it is having someone that has knowledge and quality products. Bleaching at home is not a good idea, as you don't have the knowledge and if you don't know what you're doing, I say don't do it.
Having a consultation with a stylist is the best way to know how your hair will turn out. Asking us when we can't see your hair, we don't know if there's any color on it already, or if you already bleached it and now that it's damaged you want a salon to take care of it. Everyone has a different type of answer because we don't really know what you're asking. If my hair is looked after properly at a salon after bleaching will it be ok?
yes. try to blow dry hair on cool temp and use a heat protector when you style hair. get redkin prtoector it works great and smells nice, kind of like apple but better. make sure to use shampoo and conditioner for moisturize and good deep conditioner.
No..bleach is bleach...its very harmful..and im paying the price of all the times I dreamed of long healthy, platinum blonde hair..but bleach just shortened the growing process...and it severly damaged my hair
sorry cant help u there

Every woman gets at least one nightmare haircut in her life.
Learn from this, and you'll be the stronger for it.
Next time you'll know not to let someone talk you into something that is that big a change, especially if you don't know that person well enough to trust them.
Find a stylist you can trust, and that takes years of going to them and learning if they listen to your needs, or just want to be creative divas with your hair.
And remember, no one every died of a bad haircut. It will grow out. When this happened to me, when it finally did grow out it was actually in better condition than before - they cut off all the dead stuff that was making my hair look dull.
So there is a silver lining (even if its a little hard to see right now).
Hang in there.Haircut looks like split ends from crown to ends (just layered according to salon!)?
poor you!!!!
I've had a bad cut too
but it was in the summer and I had no school so sigh of relief
but you know what?? hair grows faster in the cold weather
YAY!!
anyways my hair is long enough to tie up so it doesn't look so bad
Try some deep conditioners and sometimes an oil treatment works.

Sorry to hear about your hair. Sounds very frustrating. You could try a smoothing gel like Bio Silk's Silk Therapy or Bain de Terre also makes one. They look like frizz ease but cost a little more. It's worth the extra cost because they aren't greasy if you follow directions but they will help smooth down frizzies from over processing and could even help get your hair in better condition. Best of Luck. Also I just got my hair colored and my stylist put on a deep conditioner from a brand called Texture Line and put me under the dryer with it. It really worked! And this is from someone who struggles with dry or frizzy hair. I would definitely suggest looking for this Texture Line product at your local beauty supply.makeup application
