I have had natural hair for four years but I cannot seem to get the Afro look. My hair may be too long. I am looking to cut my hair a little short with the curly look; to start all over. I have used texturizers in my hair and that does not seem to work. Please help if there is any advice.I am looking for an African-American Natural Hair Care Salon that cuts and styles near Langley AFB in Virginia?

I recommend you walking up to someone who's wearing their hair natural and who's hair you admire and just ask...';where do you get your hair done and would you recommend the salon/stylist?'; I would imagine you would find enough people in the Virginia area wearing various natural hair styles.
If they give a good recommendation, take a trip to that salon. Let the receptionist know that you are looking for a new salon and would like to observe some of the stylist. Do this because you may find a stylist at the salon that you'd prefer over the one recommend. The receptionist should not have a problem with this at all. I've done it each time I've relocated and have had great success with this approach.
I am now in San Diego and this is how I found the salon that I've been going to for seven years now. I was in Sally's Beauty supply store, saw a women their who's hair I admired and I just asked. Turns out the salon she recommended was right in my back door.
Follow these steps and you will be satisfied. Just keep going until you find the right salon/stylist.
