My mom won't take me to a real hair salon & my hair always looks like crap. Suggestions?

so my mom NEVER takes me to a real salon. she always takes me to Great Clips or student salons.





Every time, they botch my hair or do the exact opposite i want.





like today, i asked for short choppy layers, and to keep the length. Instead, the lady gave my long layers, cut off 2 inches, and cut my bangs at a weird angle.





i dont blame the lady, its just really frustrating.





How can i convince my mom to take me to a real hair salon? any suggestions on what salon as well?My mom won't take me to a real hair salon %26amp; my hair always looks like crap. Suggestions?
I would never take my daughter to a student salon. Sometimes a bargain isn't worth it. I'm guessing it is because Salon's can be expensive. Look around for one that isn't. I pay $21 at my salon and get a really great haircut. If she won't take you then save some money and go yourself. That sucks, my parents were the same way until I got old enough to pay for my own hair excursions. One thing you can do at places like Great Clips is ask if there is a manager available to cut your hair-a lot of times they will do a better job. I also strongly suggest, especially at student salons, to pick a young person whose hair you like to do your hair. It's not always the best indicator of who will do the best job but you know if they look hip they will at least have a good idea of the styles you're talking about if they keep up with it too!!
What do you mean by a 'real Salon'. Great Clips is a REAL Salon. Cosmetology Schools...well, They're learning. Some are great, some aren't. Most will be out in 'Real Salons' in less then a few months(Which it is like that in ANY Salon. Some are great, and some aren't.). If your mom doesn't want to take you to a 'Real Salon', Then I guess your going to have to live, as 'real Salons' are more expensive. Times are tough, and people really don't want to spend the money on hair and nails, when they have other things to worry about.





The reason is why most people hair ends up 'botched' or not how they want it, is because they A) They tell the hairstylist what they want in 'hairstylist terms', most of the time..It's not what people think the 'term' is, or B) They're being really vague with a haircut. Always bring in a picture.
tell her the Truth. say ';mom this is bull **** why does my hair have to look so bad. I need to go to a real beauty salon so I can look pretty. if I stay looking this bad i will never meet a guy who likes me and I Will have to live here for the rest of my life and live in the basement. is that what you want mom?! me? in the basement? FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE???!!!'; that would work on me. and my mom. plus im a over exaggerator. so I like to over exaggerator lol
Uhm, mess up your hair bad for a while, then when she tells you to fix it, then just say, ';No, I can't.'; And she might bring you. Or just use your own money.
